Wrapping Up the Month: From First Sips to Meaningful Journeys

As we close out this month together, I find myself reflecting on how beautifully this journey has unfolded—not just in what we’ve learned about wine, but in how we’ve experienced it together.

We began with a simple, honest truth: everyone starts somewhere.

In that first story, I shared the memory of putting red wine in the freezer—something that still makes me smile today. It wasn’t about doing it “right.” It was about beginning. That moment reminded us that love often comes before knowledge, and that curiosity is more than enough to get us started.

Then came the spicy shrimp and bold red wine pairing—the experience that didn’t quite work, but left a lasting impression.

Because wine, like life, is about harmony.

It’s not just about having great elements—it’s about how they come together. Balance. Timing. Flow. That lesson has stayed with me, shaping not only how I enjoy wine, but how I thoughtfully design every experience through Wine Time Travels.

In week three, we explored something many people quietly relate to: choosing wine by the label.

A phase I fully embraced—and honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Because sometimes appreciation begins with what draws us in, before we understand why. Over time, that curiosity grows into deeper knowledge, more thoughtful choices, and a richer, more meaningful experience.

That’s the evolution we’re all on.

And when I look back at those early “oops” moments, I don’t see mistakes.

I see stepping stones.

Each one helped shape how I approach wine, travel, and ultimately, how I created something meaningful to share with others. Wine Time Travels was built from those moments—with intention, care, and a genuine desire to help others feel confident, inspired, and welcomed.

But as much as this journey is about wine, it’s also about something deeply personal.

This path didn’t begin with Wine Time Travels.
It began long before—in a very different chapter of my life.

I spent my career in corporate America, working in a fast-paced IT environment where structure, deadlines, and constant motion defined my days. And as retirement slowly shifted from a distant idea to a very real horizon, I found myself asking a question that felt both simple and overwhelming:

It was a moment filled with uncertainty—but also quiet possibility.

Life, as it often does, had already shaped me in ways I didn’t fully recognize at the time. I experienced love, loss, change, and growth. I walked through two marriages before finding my forever partner—my husband—in my late 40s.

Together, we built something meaningful—a blended family with three incredible children, grounded in love, resilience, and shared purpose.

And I’ve also experienced profound loss.

Saying goodbye to both of my parents—and later, losing my baby sister to pancreatic cancer—changed me in ways that are difficult to fully put into words. Those moments didn’t harden me. They softened me.

They reminded me how precious time is.
How fragile life can be.
And how important it is to truly live.

And that’s what led me here.

As retirement approached, I knew I didn’t simply want to fill my time—I wanted to create a life that felt intentional, joyful, and shared.

Something that reflected not just what I had learned, but what I value most.

For me—and for my husband—that joy was found in travel.

In discovering new places.
In experiencing wine in the regions where it’s created.
In slowing down long enough to truly appreciate a destination, rather than rushing through it.

Wine Time Travels was born from that desire:

To savor life.
To embrace each day as a gift.
And to share that experience with others.

This Journey Is Ours

And that includes you.

This isn’t just my journey—it’s ours.

We are learning together.
Exploring together.
Discovering new wine regions, hidden gems, and meaningful experiences side by side.

Whether it’s understanding what makes a wine “good,” finding those special places off the beaten path, or simply feeling more confident in your choices—you are part of this story.

My goal has never been to make wine feel complicated or intimidating.

It’s to make it feel welcoming. Enjoyable. Meaningful.

To help you experience not just the wine—but the place, the people, and the story behind it.

So as we wrap up this month, I just want to say thank you.
